International youth competitions "Baltic Guard 2018" started in Latvia

Children of Ukrainian National Guard servicemen will represent our country at international youth competitions "Baltic Guard 2018". They have already arrived in the village of Malpils (Latvia).

 

Youth guards and cadets from all three Baltic countries and the UK will participate in this international youth camp. The goal of the camp is to strengthen regional identity, to facilitate leadership skills in young people, to involve young people in simulations about overcoming crises, to facilitate the development of the Baltic Youth Guard movement and cooperation between the nations.

 

The official opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis. He wished the participants to spend a fruitful time, to demonstrate their skills and to find real friends.

 

This year competition involves 130 teenagers aged 14-19 from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Great Britain, Poland, and Ukraine. This international summer camp will take place from August 13 through 17.

 

During the camp the participants will also take part in quizzes, sports games, practice orienteering and compete in various disciplines (climbing, shooting, first aid).
